Bluesound Pulse Flex 2025, new active multiroom network speaker: active multiroom network speaker, ter

Ten years after the arrival of the Pulse Flex speaker, and a few weeks after the announcement of the new PowerNode 2025 (see our news Bluesound Powernode 2025 network amplifier/player, the same but much better!), the Canadian manufacturer Bluesound presents the new Pulse Flex. The concept remains identical, that is to say an active multiroom network speaker, but it is updated to integrate the latest technologies available, without forgetting a significant increase in power.

Larger than its direct predecessor, the [abc]Hi-Res Audio[/abc] certified Bluesound Pulse Flex speaker offers all of its features, with added power. The Class D amplification is rated at 50W (compared to 20W on the original Pulse Flex).

For the rest, we find 192 kHz/24-bit compatibility and the ability to manage your listening from an Android/iOS mobile device or directly via a PC or Mac computer through the BluOS application. Technically, the Bluesound Pulse Flex integrates a [abc]tweeter[/abc] of 2.1 cm, supported by a [abc]woofer[/abc] of 10.2 centimeters.

[abc]streaming[/abc] audio is provided by the Bluetooth 5.3 APT-X HD, [abc]AirPlay 2[/abc], [abc]Wi-Fi[/abc] 5 Dual Band or [abc]Ethernet[/abc] functions. Compatibilities [abc]MP3[/abc], [abc]WMA[/abc], [abc]AAC[/abc], [abc]Ogg[/abc], WMA [abc]Lossless[/abc], [abc]Flac[/abc], [abc]Alac[/abc], [abc]MQA[/abc], [abc]AIFF[/abc] and [abc]Wav[/abc] are supported up to 192 kHz/24 bits, without forgetting 11.2 megahertz DSD. Likewise, the application perfectly manages the services Deezer, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect… 23 services in all. And the [abc]web radios[/abc] (TuneIn Radio).

To finish with the sound sources, in addition to the Ethernet port already mentioned, the Bluesound Pulse Flex 2025 also has a [abc]USB[/abc] port ([abc]Fat32[/abc]/NTFS) to access the audio content stored on a suitable key or an [abc]HDD[/abc] and an [abc]optical[/abc] input to connect an [abc]audio CD[/abc] player for example. Namely, the latter can also act as a 3.5 millimeter mini-Jack auxiliary analog input. There is also a headphone output, not forgetting a USB-C port for connecting a computer.

Single, two or multiroom££££

And if the Bluesound Pulse Flex 2025 speaker can be used solo, as with all multiroom systems, several of them can be indifferently associated, either within a home with one speaker per room, or in the same zone to create a stereo system, simply assign one of the speakers for the left channel and the other for the right. It can also, of course, be associated with a Pulse Sub+ wireless subwoofer, Pulse, Pulse Mini and/or Pulse M speakers, or with one of the new Pulse Cinema or Pulse Cinema Mini. With this type of configuration, the system offers the possibility of listening to a different piece of music in each room or broadcasting the same one on all the speakers, or even enjoying a Home Cinema session.
