After stealing the hearts of Star Wars fans in a Disney+ series, the cute Grogu (and the Mandalorian) is coming to theaters soon. The aptly named film The Mandalorian & Grogu has just unveiled its first trailer, rather lacking in dialogue, but rich in action and especially in creatures and other puppets. It's hard not to see this as a deliberate attempt to appeal to fans of the first films in the saga.
Star Wars returns to its roots
At the end of season 3 of The Mandalorian, the character played by Pedro Pascal and his little teammate are living happy days, far from new worries. This was without counting on Lucasfilm and Disney's desire to continue exploiting them, in a film directed by Jon Favreau (creator of The Mandalorian, in particular). Our two heroes will therefore work for the New Republic and hunt down what remains of the Empire in the galaxy.
Also present will be a certain Sigourney Weaver, but also the character of Zeb from the animated series Rebels, or even the son of Jabba the Hutt voiced by Jeremy Allen White (The Bear, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere).
The Mandalorian & Grogu will arrive in theaters in May 2026.
