TCL CSOT Gen 8.6 Ink-Jet Printing Oled Plant Targets Computer and Smartphone Markets

Mentioned in our columns about two weeks ago (see our news TCL CSOT: erection of a Gen 8.6 Ink-Jet Printing Oled factory, it's confirmed), the next CSOT Ink-Jet Printing Oled generation 8.6 factory implemented on the site on the T8 site of CSOT in Guangzhou in China would finally be dedicated to the manufacture of small and medium diagonal panels.

The time when we will see Ink-Jet Printing [abc]Oled[/abc] TVs in stores still seems a long way off. CSOT (China Star Optoelectronics Technology), a subsidiary of the TCL group and the screen manufacturer probably the most advanced on the IJP Oled subject (see our news Joled/CSOT partnership for the development of Oled TV panels), has reportedly decided to dedicate the production of IJP Oled motherboards from its next factory at the T8 site in Guangzhou, China, to the IT market, smartphones and other so-called niche sectors (medical, for example).

TV market: the Mini LED, the gravedigger of IJP Oled?££££ The Oled TV market would therefore not see a third suitable technology emerge, in addition to Woled by LG Display and QD Oled developed by Samsung Display. No doubt the growing success of Mini LED technology, developed by TCL/CSOT, and its upcoming and very promising [abc]RGB[/abc] Mini [abc]LED[/abc] variation, have played a role in CSOT's strategy.

IJP Oled: screens for monitors and smartphones££££ The production figures suggested in our previous publication remain relevant, 90,000 monthly motherboard panels (2.29 x 2.62 m) by the end of 2027 via two production lines, proof that CSOT firmly believes in the development potential of the IJP Oled process for small and medium-sized screens.
