Cloud gaming Netflix on TV and PC, let's go (or almost)

After the mobile version, Netflix is preparing for the imminent arrival of video games on the big screen, but this time in streaming.

Since the end of 2021, the Netflix streaming platform has diversified its activity by launching a free video game offer, reserved for its subscribers. Netflix games are only available on mobile devices, but the platform will now extend its activity to PCs, multimedia boxes, Smart TVs and other devices with the Netflix application, or even on computers via Netflix.com.

Netflix games soon available on computers and Smart TV

Beta testing has recently begun for a limited selection of users in Canada and the UK, and where mobile games are downloadable, the widescreen process uses streaming (Cloud Gaming). For now only two games are available for testing -Oxenfree and Molehew's Mining Adventure- and they are controlled by keyboard and mouse on PC, and with the new Netflix Game Controller iPhone app for TVs.

List hardware compatible with Netflix games, excluding smartphones

Compatible devices are: Amazon Fire TV players, Chromecast with Google TV, LG Smart TVs, nVidia Shield TVs, Roku devices and TVs and, of course, Samsung Smart TVs. Other materials will be added to this list at a later date, according to Netflix. On the other hand, we note the absence of Apple TV, the Cupertino company not allowing direct streaming from applications like Netflix (or Xbox).
