True Detective creator announces western series for Amazon

Nic Pizzolatto, the creator of the True Detective series, signs a western series for Amazon.

This western has no title yet, but the ambition of the US head of Amazon is to create a series in the vein of Paramount+'s excellent Yellowstone franchise.

The series will be written in the purest tradition of the classic western with a plot that will revolve around an outlaw whose past comes back to haunt him, threatening his family life, which he has had so much trouble to build.

A long-awaited serial return

This is not the author's first foray into the world of westerns (click for his interview) since he is already responsible for the remake of The Magnificent Seven for Antoine Fuqua with Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke. And it will be the first series signed Nic Pizzolato since True Detective and the Redreemer series project, abandoned since Matthew McConaughey, interested at first, finally left the ship. We hope that Nic Pizzolatto (on the left in the photo below) does not experience the same misadventure with his future western series. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
