The Korean manufacturer, in addition to the Samsung HW-Q990B and Samsung HW-Q930B soundbars, presents the Samsung HW-S800B, a Dolby Atmos 3.1.2 and design soundbar.

Its dimensions (just over one meter in length) make it suitable for televisions of 42'' (107 m) and more. Technically, the soundbar incorporates eight speakers: six on the front of the soundbar + plus two HP Up-Firing for the Height channels. For its part, the subwoofer has a boomer supported by a passive radiator for deep bass. Powered by Class D amplification, the set delivers a total power of 330 watts. Precision, the Samsung HW-S800B is Hi-Res Audio certified.

Samsung HW-QS800B, connectivity

With Bluetooth compatibility to enjoy audio content from an appropriate device (smartphone, tablet, computer, etc.), as well as AirPlay 2 and Wi-Fi compatibility, the Samsung HW-S800B can advantageously replace the Hi-Fi system from the living room. Especially since the Spotify Connect and Chromecast (integrated) functions are required.

Finally, the Samsung HW-S800B, compatible with the SmartThings home application, can be easily integrated into a connected home installation.

Samsung HW-QS800B, Q-Symphony, Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X

The Q-Symphony function is also on the program, in the presence of a 2020/2021/2022 vintage Samsung television. As a reminder, it allows you to take advantage of the TV speakers in addition to those of the sound bar to magnify the sound reproduction, its magnitude and its spatialization. As announced in the title of this news, the Samsung HW-S800B soundbar is compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X. MP3, AAC, Wav, Ogg, Flac, AIFF and Alac files are also supported.

Another advantage of the Q-Symphony label is wireless Dolby Atmos compatibility: a suitable soundtrack is therefore decoded and broadcast by the soundbar and the television without any wired connection (Wi-Fi connection). Finally, the SpaceFit Sound functionality is also present for fine calibration (via a succession of sound messages and analysis of their frequency response, their echo and their return speed) in relation to the configuration of the surrounding room.

Samsung HW-QS800B, features and connectivity

Also noteworthy is the Adaptive Sound function which adapts the sound reproduction to the content broadcast according to four presets (Dialogue, Film, Sport and News). We also note the possibility of controlling the Samsung HW-S800B by voice with Works with Alexa and Works with Google certifications. The connection has an HDMI CEC 1.4 output (ARC).
