New iPhone SE, 30 million units sold this year?

As soon as Apple's latest iPhone is out, it's already set to be a big hit in 2022.

The third generation iPhone SE was released very recently, and Taiwanese analysts Digitimes already estimate that it will sell 30 million copies this year alone.

Apple iPhone SE 2022, the milestone of 30 million?

To arrive at this figure, Digitimes relied on the sales of the iPhone SE 2020 as well as the number of components available. Apple should thus be able to produce 5 million iPhone SEs in the first quarter, even if sales are expected to be below this figure to begin with. Distribution should reach 11 million units for the second quarter and would be similar to the third. Finally, it would be less in the fourth quarter, to give priority on the production lines to the new iPhone 14.

The iPhone SE should appeal to the public in particular thanks to its low price, its more traditional design, and the physical Home button with Touch ID. Along the way, it will help inflate the market for 5G smartphones outside of China.
