The Penguin, green light for the series with Colin Farrell

HBO Max has just given the green light for the series derived from the universe of the new Batman, The Penguin!

This choice is all the stranger as the seductive Colin Farrell, supposed to take over the role he already plays in Matt Reeves' film with Robert Pattinson, is unrecognizable.

A little friendly hero

It's quite simple, in the film he looks more like Al Pacino as Big Boy Caprice in Dick Tracy than the penguin played by Danny DeVito in Tim Burton's Batman Return. This pot-bellied villain character, with a swollen face, pockmarked skin and bald head, will therefore be the hero of the series that will bear his name.

According to Deadline, the series will chronicle the character's rise to power after the events of The Batman left Gotham City in utter chaos. Lauren LeFranc (Agents of the Shield, Impulse, Chuck) will serve as showrunner for the series, which she will also executive produce alongside Colin Farrell. The series is intended for the HBO Max platform.
