Samsung Galaxy Studio: the future premium headset to challenge the AirPods Max?

Samsung is preparing to enter the over-ear headphone market with an unprecedented model, and the latest rumors tell us more about its name. Previously called the Galaxy H1, this very first premium South Korean headset is ultimately expected to be sold under the name Galaxy Studio. Its goal? To go after the luxury Apple AirPods Max and the benchmark Sony WH-1000XM6.

We mentioned it a few weeks ago in our columns, and the South Korean manufacturer seems determined to expand its audio ecosystem. Samsung is indeed preparing to take a new step by entering the highly competitive over-ear headphone market, with the ambition of positioning itself in direct competition with the sector’s heavyweights. And the image illustrating this news (generated by AVcesar’s AI based on leaked simplified sketches) gives a first visual idea.

The abandonment of the Galaxy H1 code name

It was developer and well-known leaker @evowizz who recently spilled the beans on the X social network. Goodbye to the Galaxy H1 lab name, uncovered in the depths of the Galaxy Wearable app; the premium headset will officially adopt the name Galaxy Studio. A clever semantic choice that immediately highlights its audiophile ambitions.

Samsung Galaxy Studio, expected to launch with the Galaxy S27 lineup If the Suwon-based company is for now keeping a strict radio silence on the release date of this headset, the launch windows appear limited. The most likely hypothesis points to a grand unveiling at the beginning of 2027, logically alongside the future Galaxy S27 smartphones. A strategic move to lock down the brand’s mobile ecosystem.

Samsung Galaxy Studio, a very heavy technological arsenal

Even though the final spec sheet remains to be officially confirmed, the announced flagship positioning of the Galaxy Studio draws a serious and ambitious composite sketch. We obviously expect active noise cancellation (ANC), Bluetooth 6.1 compatibility coupled with Auracast sharing technology and Bluetooth LE Audio (LC3 codec). On the sound reproduction side, the AAC, SBC and in-house high-definition SSC UHQ codecs would be included, supported by an adaptive equalizer. Finally, spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, Samsung Find geolocation and the omnipresence of AI (Bixby and Google Gemini) would also be included.

Indicative price still unknown but estimated at around €450 to €500.
