IFA 26 > Haier HSM990 soundbar: 7.1.4 and 15 speakers by Kef

In addition to its new television ranges unveiled at the Berlin IFA 2026 trade show (presentation to follow in a later article), Haier surprised visitors at its stand with the unveiling of a very ambitious soundbar. Developed in partnership with the renowned British speaker manufacturer Kef, the Haier HSM990 promises a true 7.1.4 Home Cinema immersion.
During our visit to the manufacturer’s booth in Berlin, our attention was drawn to this new audio reference, which reflects the Chinese brand’s strong ambitions in the Home Cinema segment. While Haier already equips some of its premium TVs with a Sound by Kef audio system, its collaboration with the British hi-fi specialist reaches a new level here with a dedicated soundbar.
Haier HSM990, 7.1.4 system and 15 Kef speakers
Designed to deliver a true multichannel sound spectacle, the Haier HSM990 soundbar is based on a [abc]Dolby Atmos[/abc] 7.1.4 configuration. To ensure optimal reproduction and flawless spatial realism in every scene, the manufacturer has integrated no fewer than 15 premium speakers developed specifically by Kef. This partnership promises particularly immersive surround sound with extremely precise audio positioning.
Miniature Uni-Q MX speaker and artificial intelligence
The standout feature of this soundbar lies in the integration of the British firm’s famous coaxial technology, here adapted into a new version. The Haier HSM990 indeed incorporates miniature Uni-Q MX transducers. According to the technical sheet presented at the show, this Kef exclusive makes it possible to broadcast sound in a perfectly uniform manner throughout the room, like ripples on the surface of water. Added to this is an integrated artificial intelligence module to optimize the sound output in real time and guarantee deep bass, rich dynamics, and impactful audio intensity.
The release date and indicative price of this Haier HSM990 soundbar remain, at the time of writing, unknown. More details later.
