Awaited with great anticipation, the live-action adaptation of Nintendo's video game The Legend of Zelda will arrive on April 28, 2027, and the saga's creator Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo's star designer, recently dropped a few details about what awaits us.
Information delivered on the occasion of the recent Nintendo Direct, during which the magnificent remake of Ocarina of Time was also revealed, which will be released on Switch 2 in November. We first learn that the title of The Legend of Zelda will be... The Legend of Zelda, without a subtitle.
All the elements of the Zelda games brought together in a film?
“The title is... The Legend of Zelda,” Miyamoto therefore stated. Once you have seen the film, you will understand why there is no subtitle. It is an original film, based on the many stories, ideas and concepts of the series, accumulated over the games for 40 years. Thanks to the creative power and visual mastery of the talented production team, this work has become an artistic achievement worthy of the The Legend of Zelda series. The development team at Nintendo and I are also involved, of course!”.
May the Triforce be with us
The film will therefore not be adapted from one particular game, even if it will feature key elements: “When we talk about The Legend of Zelda, there is the Triforce,” continues Miyamoto. What role do you think it will play in the film? We will share more details later, so please be patient”.
For newcomers, the Triforce (photo below) is this central element in the series, a sort of recurring MacGuffin that the big villain systematically wants to recover in order to obtain infinite power.
