JBL Cove connected speakers (M1, P1, X1): the perfect Wi‑Fi multiroom and Dolby Atmos for the home?

JBL unveils its brand-new range of home Wi-Fi speakers called JBL Cove. Comprising three distinct models, the M1, P1, and X1, this modular and scalable series aims to deliver an immersive multiroom experience, notably with support for Dolby Atmos and deep integration with the brand's soundbars.

The range is built around three multiroom speakers designed to suit every room and every need. The JBL Cove M1 (see third photo below on the left) is presented as the compact model in the series, equipped with three [abc]tweeters[/abc] and one [abc]woofer[/abc], ideal for everyday listening.

More ambitious, the JBL Cove P1 is a portable speaker (see photo below and fourth photo below on the right) with a battery life of up to 14 hours (rechargeable via its dock) and IP56 certification. It stands out above all for its acoustic architecture integrating four tweeters (including one upward-facing) and one woofer, allowing it to deliver 3D [abc]Dolby Atmos[/abc] sound. Finally, the flagship of the range, the JBL Cove X1 (see second photo below), carries over this Dolby Atmos compatibility with four tweeters (including one vertical) but flexes its muscles through two woofers to deliver powerful sound capable of filling the largest spaces.

JBL Cove M1, P1 and X1: AI calibration and Home Cinema evolution To ensure optimal sound output, JBL has integrated several of its proprietary technologies: automatic calibration that adjusts the sound according to the room layout, the Constant Sound Field process to balance diffusion, and AI Sound Boost designed to minimize distortion at high volume. Controlled from the JBL One app, these speakers can operate on their own, be configured as a stereo pair, or be integrated into a larger multiroom network. A major asset for movie fans, they can be paired with JBL Bar Series MK2 soundbars to act as rear surround channels and thus create a true immersive Dolby Atmos system.

JBL Cove M1, P1 and X1: exhaustive connectivity and Music Follows Me The JBL Cove ecosystem delivers on network connectivity with support for [abc]Hi-Res Audio[/abc] via [abc]Wi-Fi[/abc], [abc]AirPlay 2[/abc], [abc]Chromecast (intégré)[/abc] and Roon Ready. Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect are also included, as is [abc]Bluetooth[/abc]. An Alexa+ voice assistant will also be rolled out later this year. Physical ergonomics are not forgotten, with the presence of a Moment button. This lets users activate Spotify Tap or the Music Follows Me function, which intelligently transfers music or TV sound from one room to another without having to handle a smartphone.

The floor to Carsten Olesen, president of Consumer Audio at Harman “For decades, JBL has created exceptional sound experiences wherever music is enjoyed.
