Still directed by Simon McQuoid, but this time written by Jeremy Slater, this second installment finally puts the franchise back on track: a tournament, iconic fighters, simple stakes, and an atmosphere more faithful to the games. More generous, more fun, and closer to the original video game, Mortal Kombat II is announced in 4K single-player or duo mode.
Mortal Kombat II (click to read our review), the latest installment in the franchise inspired by the famous video game, will arrive in a standard edition and a 4K Steelbook on September 9th from Warner, following a VOD release scheduled for September 3rd. The film is announced with Dolby Vision HDR and an English Dolby Atmos TrueHD soundtrack. Bonus features include: • Mortal Kombat II: The Evolution of the Saga • Building the Mortal Kombat Universes • Mortal Kombat II: Choose Your Fighter • Hand-to-Hand Combat • A "treasure trove" for all gamers. Also of note for fans of the franchise: a two-film 4K UHD box set, combining Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II, will be available for a suggested retail price of €39.99. Pre-orders are now open.
