Samsung S99H: 2026 Ultra HD 4K OLED TV, 2700 nits peak brightness and NQ4 AI Gen 3 processor

Following our presentations of the Samsung R95H and Samsung R85H Micro RGB TV series (see our news articles "Samsung R95H Micro RGB: the new 2026 Ultra HD 4K showcase from the Korean manufacturer" and "Samsung R85H Micro RGB TV: the new 2026 Ultra HD 4K series that democratizes Micro RGB"), it's time to take a look at the Samsung S99H OLED TV series, the most upscale offering from the Korean manufacturer. And since many of you have asked for a detailed presentation of the 2026 Samsung TV range, as a reminder, please refer to our news article "Samsung 2026 Ultra HD 4K TVs: 12 OLED, Neo QLED, Mini LED, and Crystal UHD series with 64 new models (including prices)" to discover almost the entire range of Samsung products (the Samsung Lifestyle TV series will be included later).
With the S99H televisions, the Korean manufacturer Samsung adds a fourth TV series to its OLED TV offering, combining all the brand's expertise on the one hand, and offering a different aesthetic on the other with its Dual Plate design. This design positions the screen in front of a gray metal rear chassis that protrudes approximately 5 cm on all four sides. Samsung S99H, peak brightness of 2,700 nits. Four Samsung S99H models are available: the Samsung TQ55S99H (55", 140 cm), Samsung TQ65S99H (65", 165 cm), Samsung TQ77S99H (77", 196 cm), and Samsung TQ83S99H (83", 211 cm). The peak brightness, once the TV is calibrated, is announced at 2,700 nits (APL 10%), which is approximately 35% higher than that of last year's Samsung S95F models. Samsung S99H, Wireless One Connect box and design. The Samsung S99H TVs offer all the necessary connectivity to connect all desired audio-video sources. But if the desire to hide as many cables as possible is too strong, it's possible to add an optional One Connect box, which appeared last year on the Lifestyle TV series The Frame Pro (Samsung LS03FW) and the Samsung Ultra HD 8K QN990F series. And if you ever feel the need to connect a large number of sources, for example, a hardcore gamer and movie buff with a PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, gaming PC, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player, Apple TV (second generation), R_volution media player… be aware that these are in addition to the TV's inputs, for a total of, for example, eight HDMI 2.1 inputs available (four on the TV and four on the One Connect). Of course, for its S99H displays, Samsung offers a Zero Wall Gap wall mount so that the S99H screen panel sits completely flush against the wall. And since the panel frame is extremely thin, the overall look is truly splendid, imbued with a beautiful impression of lightness. Samsung S99H, main specifications: The 2026 Samsung S99H OLED TV series represents the most advanced evolution of the Korean manufacturer's OLED range. While the panel remains very similar to that of the 2025 S95F, Samsung has significantly optimized the software brightness management, allowing it to reach a measured peak of 2,700 nits at 10% APL and 440 nits at 100% APL, a notable improvement in overall dynamic range. Real Black certification remains, guaranteeing deep blacks even in bright environments. The new NQ4 AI Gen 3 processor also makes its debut, with increased processing power and more advanced AI algorithms to optimize image and sound in real time (512 Deep Learning modules). Finally, the refresh rate climbs to 165 Hz, with FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync compatibility for exceptional smoothness. As a reminder, the Deep Learning process is based on a neural network model, meaning no human intervention (unlike Machine Learning) is required in the processor's training. The processor automatically determines the necessary adjustments to the image processing algorithms to restore optimal quality from a degraded display. The EyeComfort Mode, once the TV is connected to the internet, subtly adjusts the image's brightness and color temperature according to the time of day for consistently optimal viewing comfort. This last feature, for example, reduces the blue light emitted in the evening to promote sleep for sensitive individuals.

Samsung S99H: HDR10+ Advanced, peak brightness, colors and video performance££££

The S99H supports HDR10+, HDR10+ Adaptive, HDR10+ Gaming, HDR10+ Advanced and HDR HLG formats. As always with Samsung, Dolby Vision is not included, but the brand compensates with particularly advanced HDR management. The Color Booster Pro process enhances the saturation and richness of colors scene by scene, while the self-emissive panel ensures infinite contrast. The television also incorporates the Auto HDR Remastering Pro process, capable of converting SDR content into a more dynamic, brighter and more contrasted HDR rendering thanks to the AI algorithms of the NQ4 AI Gen 3 processor.

The refresh rate can reach up to 165 Hz via the Motion Xcelerator 165 Hz function with VRR compatibility and four HDMI 2.1 inputs capable of accepting a 4K 165 Hz signal, placing the series among the current benchmarks for video games. The AI Motion Enhancer mode remains to smooth fast movements without excessive artifacts, while the AI Auto Game Mode automatically adapts settings based on the type of game content. Also included is the AI Football Mode Pro setting, which detects match broadcasts to optimize pitch color and stadium sound.

Samsung S99H, Adaptive Sound Pro, AVA Pro, OTS+ and Dolby Atmos

The sound system of the S99H TVs remains very ambitious with a 4.2.2 system capable of delivering a total of 70W, compatible with wireless Dolby Atmos, supported by OTS+ (Object Tracking Sound) to spatialize effects as close as possible to the action on screen. The Q-Symphony function is still present: in combination with a Samsung Q-Series soundbar (2020 to 2026), the TV retains its own speakers to enhance spaciousness and immersion, while automatically adapting the sound to the room's acoustics. There are numerous new software features, starting with AI Sound Controller Pro, which allows you to independently adjust certain sound objects (for example, amplifying the crowd noise while attenuating the commentators' voices), and an enhanced version of Adaptive Sound Pro and Active Voice Amplifier Pro to maintain dialogue clarity even in the presence of background noise. This year also sees the addition of the ability to connect up to five audio devices simultaneously via Bluetooth, and the Vision AI Companion (recommendations, picture/sound optimization, instant translation/Live Translate, generative wallpaper; see our news article "Samsung Vision AI Companion: TV is becoming truly intelligent").

Samsung S99H, Multiview function

Like their predecessors, the Samsung S99H OLED TVs offer the simultaneous display of multiple content streams thanks to the MultiView function, now more responsive thanks to the NQ4 AI Gen 3 processor. Users can display up to two windows in parallel: a TV channel, an HDMI source, an application, an internet stream, or even a smartphone screen via mirroring. Various display configurations (Picture-in-Picture, adjacent windows, dynamic layout) are still available, along with intelligent audio management allowing selection of the primary source. The S99H also benefits from improved mirroring (TV to mobile and mobile to TV), AirPlay compatibility, and deep integration with SmartThings to display cameras, notifications, or connected devices directly on the screen.

Finally, the arrival of the Art Store on the S99H series confirms Samsung's confidence in its anti-burn-in technology: the TV can now display artwork and photos like a true digital frame, enhanced by the Metal Frame design and Glare Free 3.0 technology, which almost completely eliminates reflections. On the Smart TV front, the Samsung S99H models benefit from the latest version of Tizen 2026, still focused on content and still accompanied by 7 years of OS updates—a rare commitment in the market. Bixby, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant are integrated, with the ability to switch between them depending on the situation. The TV also features the new Vision AI Companion, capable of recommending content, optimizing picture and sound in real time, instantly translating into six languages, and generating a personalized wallpaper. AirPlay, SmartThings, Google Meet, Copilot, and Perplexity compatibility further enrich the connected ecosystem. Connectivity is also enhanced with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Samsung S99H: Game Bar 5.0, the ultimate gaming control center. Also featured are the ALLM function and the Game Bar 5.0 with its 16:9, 21:9, or even 32:9 display modes (Super Ultra Wide Game View and Mini Map Zoom function, see our article "Samsung Smart TVs are making PCs and consoles virtual") for video game enthusiasts with PC connection and Game Motion Plus mode. As a reminder, this last feature (adapted for video games as its name suggests) is very interesting because it allows you to activate the TV's motion compensation process with games while maintaining a fairly low input lag. Not forgetting the Smart Calibration feature (formerly Expert Calibration, see our article "CES 22 > Samsung Neo QLED TV, Intelligent Calibration via Samsung Galaxy or iPhone") and a SolarCell remote control that is still solar-powered and can be recharged via RF. (radio frequency). Thus, the remote control uses your router's Wi-Fi signal to recharge continuously.

SmartThings: the TV at the heart of the connected home (3D Map View) Of course, the SmartThings function is still included. The group's IoT (Internet of Things) platform is compatible with Android and iOS, as well as with several hundred devices from other brands (Arlo-type security cameras, Amazon Echo or Google Home-type smart speakers, Philips Hue-type connected lights, smart locks, etc.). Samsung Smart TVs are therefore able to integrate into the most current interactive ecosystems with a major advantage, directly linked to their DNA: the ability to display a wealth of information on their screen. Thanks to the new 3D Map View, you can see the face of the person who just rang the doorbell, the contents of your Samsung Family Hub refrigerator, notifications from your robot vacuum cleaner, or even when your washing machine cycle is finished. The TV thus becomes the preferred interface for accessing the features offered by your Smart Home devices. Available in May.
