Star Wars: 1 million for C-3PO's head

After a foot last year, it's now C-3PO's head that has found its way into the hands of a lucky buyer. This prop, used during the filming of The Empire Strikes Back, was sold for a staggering $1,058,400 at a recent auction held by PropStore. This price confirms that Star Wars items remain among the most sought-after by collectors. The price far exceeded initial estimates, which placed the item between $350,000 and $700,000. "This is the only known example of Threepio's head from the second film to have appeared on the collectors' market," states the item's description, justifying its rarity and therefore its value. Among the other items sold on the first day of this auction were Quint's harpoon from Jaws ($327,000) and his fishing rod ($239,000).
