Apple acquires Severance and wants to turn the series into a franchise

Want more Severance? Apple does too, but beware of overdose…
At AVcesar, like many viewers, we love Severance. But our love for the series perhaps stems in part from its mystery and its rarity (few seasons). So, today's news is a mixed bag: Apple has acquired, as it did previously with Silo, the complete rights to the series to develop something bigger directly within its own structure, Apple Studios. Severance spin-offs: While season 3 has already been ordered, with filming hoped for this summer and writing still underway, the creative team would love to conclude with a fourth season. Producer Ben Stiller and creator Dan Erikson wouldn't be opposed to expanding their universe, particularly to satisfy Apple's desire to fill the long wait between seasons with other content. Thus, the first rumors suggest the possibility of prequels, spin-offs, or even foreign versions for Severance. We'll have to wait a few months to see what really happens, and whether Apple risks overworking its cash cow.
