AI at the Olympics? OMG!

Artificial intelligence-generated music during a figure skating event at the Olympic Games? No thanks.
The ice dance competition in figure skating at the Milan Winter Olympics in Italy was themed around the 1990s. This gave skaters the opportunity to perform duets to musical themes from the era, including songs by Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, and the Backstreet Boys. AI soundtrack at the Olympics for ice dance: too ahead of its time or out of place? But the Czech team, Katerina Mrazkova and Daniel Mrazek, opted for a more "modern" choice, with a track generated by artificial intelligence (listen here). The theme was still respected, with some of the lyrics plagiarized from "You Get What You Give" by the New Radicals (1998), and a bit of "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC. In short, old AI fare, which certainly sparked a lot of reactions on social media. In the end, the duo finished in 17th place (out of 23).
