Tom Cruise participated in the filming of the new Star Wars

This is not a joke; the next Star Wars: Starfighter will feature at least one or two shots filmed by Tom Cruise.
Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy recently told the New York Times that in November, the star reportedly arrived on set… by helicopter. Cruise had simply come to observe the setup of a scene involving a lightsaber duel in the water. Levy jokingly suggested he take one of the cameras. But the actor took the idea very seriously: “We soon found him wading ankle-deep in a muddy pond, camera in hand, ruining his very nice shoes.” Levy added: “He held the camera like a pro! Now, when you see the film, you’ll know that part of it was filmed by Tom. Honestly, that’s pretty awesome, isn’t it?” Tom Cruise, the Swiss Army knife of cinema; Stuntman, actor, producer, pilot, parachutist, climber, diver… and now cinematographer: Tom Cruise is definitely no longer quite human, but a true Swiss Army knife. Filming wrapped in December. Ryan Gosling, Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Amy Adams, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Eva Mendes star in this feature film, presented as a standalone adventure with an entirely original story set several years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Star Wars: Starfighter is expected in theaters in May 2027.
