He streams Spotify on… an audio cassette

At a time when vintage is all the rage, this DIY enthusiast takes neo-retro to its extreme by converting the Spotify stream onto a good old audio cassette.
Wired headphones, vinyl and CD players (or both at the same time), and even cassette players—retro appeals to the public, but some take things even further, producing devices that no one will buy but everyone will secretly desire. Music from Another Dimension: Today's example: YouTuber Julius Makes has created an audio streaming player from another dimension, capable of accessing the usual music platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) and converting their digital stream to analog via a DAC, to record it onto an audio cassette, a magnetic format that was all the rage in the 1970s and 80s. A gadget painstakingly crafted as a one-off, which, on the face of it, serves no purpose other than to give the music a particular character, a reminder of a time when everything wasn't smoothed over by digital technology.
