CES 26 > LG Oled Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 TV: 4,500 nits in sight

As we shared in our previous news item about Tandem OLED 2.0 panels (see our CES 26 > LG Display: OLED Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel announced), we suspected that these panels, announced in the lead-up to CES 2026 in Las Vegas for several computer monitors, would also be featured on a selection of LG OLED TVs in 2026. After LG Display's announcement, there's no longer any doubt: these panels are indeed for televisions and offer remarkable performance with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, exactly the value highlighted by Samsung Display for its 2026 QD OLED panels (see the link in the introduction to the news item above). LG Display has the floor: LG Display declares it is "unveiling a new OLED panel for televisions, a true flagship of innovation in OLED image quality." This panel incorporates Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 technology, an advanced version of LG Display's proprietary Primary RGB Tandem technology, which generates light by layering the three primary colors (red, green, and blue) independently. Thanks to an even finer pixel structure and advanced algorithms, it optimizes light efficiency. As a result, the new OLED TV panel achieves a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. It also incorporates advanced light absorption and diffusion technology to minimize reflections, offering the lowest reflection rate on the market: only 0.3%. As with the Samsung Display announcement, this peak value will need to be verified on-site. It is generally halved once the TV is calibrated. In any case, the dynamic range of Tandem OLED TV images should be even better in 2026 compared to 2025.
