Unsurprisingly, the first volume of Stranger Things 5 on Netflix achieved a record-breaking launch, although another series remains in the lead.
Netflix proudly announces a record-breaking launch for Stranger Things 5. With 59.6 million views, this first installment of the final season has earned the title of best first week for an English-language series on Netflix. Congratulations, although it's worth noting that Squid Game 3 surpasses it with 60.1 million views in its first week. But given that it's a "foreign language" series, the two works don't fall into the same category. Stranger Things 5 has grown its fanbase over the past 10 years. This in no way diminishes the expected success of Stranger Things 5 (click to read our review), which ranks in the Top 10 in 93 broadcast countries, and number one in 90 countries, including France. "The incredible number of fans who have already watched Volume 1 is astounding; the audience response has exceeded anything we could have ever dreamed of," said the Duffer Brothers, creators of the series. "The series is now ten years old, and to see the fan community not only endure but continue to grow is an immense reward for us, the actors, and the thousands of artists who have helped bring this story to life. We can't thank everyone enough, and we can't wait to share Volume 2—there's so much more to come!"
