Project Amplify, the Nike that runs for you

A first step towards a cyberpunk future with this motorized shoe – still in the prototype stage – that allows you to walk and run faster and longer.
Nike presents Project Amplify, the first-ever shoes designed to "augment" the natural movement of the lower legs and ankles. In other words, motorized Nikes for walking and running faster and longer. Augmented running, are you familiar with it? Still in its early testing phases, Amplify relies on strategically placed motors, powered by motion algorithms fed with data collected by the Nike Sport Research lab. Also noteworthy is the presence of a rechargeable battery and a removable system allowing the shoe (with its carbon fiber plate) to be used without the motorized component. Project Amplify, a new future for running: "The Project Amplify system shatters perceptions of what's possible by offering unparalleled momentum to anyone who wants to move, creating a new future for running, jogging, and walking," explains Nike, specifying that Amplify is not designed for competition, but rather for everyday use. Nike is currently working with the robotics company Dephy in the hope of commercially launching these sneakers of the future in the coming years.
