Apple, heading for mixed reality headsets and glasses££££
According to Kuo, Apple sees headsets and glasses as the next major trend in the electronics industry, and the manufacturer currently has seven projects in development. A quick look at the upcoming Apple Vision mixed reality headsets:• Successor to the Apple Vision Pro for late 2025
It would be more or less the same device as the existing one, with the main change being an M5 processor instead of the M2. Large-scale production would begin in the third quarter of 2025, and Apple would expect to sell between 150,000 and 200,000 units this year. The goal of this new Apple Vision Pro? Maintain a market presence, develop the ecosystem, explore extended reality (XR) applications, but also clear component stocks (the first model was not a big public success).
• Apple Vision Air for late 2027
This would be an all-new model, 40% lighter than the original and equipped with the processor of the best iPhone to date. The glass would be replaced by plastic, the casing would be made of magnesium alloy, and there would be a smaller number of sensors. Large-scale production planned for the third quarter of 2027 for a product cheaper than the original. • Apple Vision Pro second generation in 2028
All-new design, lighter, less expensive and equipped with an M-type processor. Large-scale production planned for the second half of 2028.
