Sony projectors finally back in Europe

As we all know, life in companies is far from smooth sailing…. The proof is Sony, which announced on March 19 that it was stopping the sale of its video projectors in Europe following recent European Union sanctions linked to the Russo-Ukrainian war (see our news Sony video projectors, abrupt interruption of sales in Europe). A new twist yesterday, the Japanese manufacturer announced its return to the European market.

After a comprehensive and principled decision, the European Commission has refined its position in recent weeks regarding its series of sanctions decided at the end of 2024. As a result, the importation and marketing of Sony video projectors are once again authorized on the old continent.

In addition to the range available at the beginning of the year with the Sony VPL-XW5000ES, Sony Bravia Projector 8 and Sony Bravia Projector 9 models, the Japanese manufacturer's offering will be enriched this summer (from August) with the Sony Bravia Projector 7 (or Sony VPL-XW5100ES) which should be displayed at €6,999 and which we will return to in more detail in a later news item.

In short, while Sony could have done without these "major twists and turns," it's a return to normal for the brand, which will be able to resume its commercial activity. Sony is expected to officially address this issue in the coming days.
