Siri “meets” ChatGPT?

Apple's artificial intelligence-powered Siri assistant is in development and has reportedly made some encouraging progress recently.

According to a recent report from Bloomberg, by Mark Gurman and Drake Bennett, some Apple insiders are pushing the Siri assistant to become a true competitor to the ChatGPT conversational model.

Over the past six months, the development of the new version of Siri has reportedly made significant progress, to the point of being considered "on par" with the latest versions of ChatGPT. Currently under discussion is the possibility of Siri accessing the internet to gather information and synthesize data from several sources, like ChatGPT. Apple has offices dedicated to AI in Zurich, where employees are working on a new architecture for Siri. This model, built on the foundations of an LLM engine (large language model, like ChatGPT and other AI bosses), should replace the current hybrid architecture, a stack of scattered features added over the years.

The new Siri will therefore be conversational and will synthesize information more efficiently.
