All Columbo goes to HD

Greatly dubbed into French by Serge Sauvion, Columbo is one of the no longer cult, but cult series of American TV. Over the course of its investigations, started with a TV film in 1968 and concluded in 2003 with a 69th episode, Columbo has welcomed a plethora of stars from the small and big screen. Among others Patrick McGoohan, Faye Dunaway, Janet Leigh, Johnny Cash, Vincent Price, William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Conrad, Donald Pleasance, Martin Landau or John Cassavetes.

The series also allowed many directors to gain experience. Among others, Steven Spielberg (The Fabelmans), the late Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs) or even Ben Gazzara and Patrick McGoohan.

The 22 Blu-Ray box set published by L'atelier d'images offers more than 3 hours of exclusive bonuses:

• A 60-page booklet (episode guide and tribute to Serge Sauvion in particular)

• One more thing: 38-minute cross-interview with series specialists Romain Nigita and Alain Carrazé

• Murders in family, a 17-minute short from YouTuber Meeea

• From DVD to Blu-Ray, a new youth: documentary on the HD transfer of the series.

• A short version of the episode Ransom for A Dead Man, the series pilot directed by Richard Irving

• An extended version of the episode Symphony in Black (season 2) co-directed by Nicholas Colasanto, John Cassavetes and Peter Falk (both uncredited)

The first 500 buyers of the complete book, already available from the publisher, will also have some goodies: Columbo badges and an exclusive poster. Only 2,000 numbered copies available.
