Legacy box set 100 years of Disney, 100 Blu-Ray animated films… watch out for your wallet

In 1923, Walt Disney created Disney Brothers Studios which later became The Walt Disney Company. An opportunity for the big-eared mouse to celebrate in style in a sublime Blu-Ray box set.

A few months ago, Warner celebrated its 100th anniversary with a sublime Blu Ray box set bringing together 100 of the most beautiful, emblematic masterpieces of the legendary studio. Commercially, this box set was still around €500, the price of cinephilia, no doubt.

100 Disney animated films in a huge box set

Today we learn that The Walt Disney Company, which is also celebrating its centennial, is preparing to do the same. However, the announced box set (called “Legacy”), bringing together 100 of the most beautiful animated films from Mickey's house, will undoubtedly be even less affordable than its Warner counterpart. It will indeed be offered at $1,500, public price! For the moment, we are only talking about a sale on the US market, from November 14. Already bookable.

The king of Blu-Ray box sets is him

In detail, this box set which nevertheless promises to be sumptuous will include both Disney films and Pixar feature films, grouped together in a set of three bound and independent volumes. Among the titles offered, we can cite: Bambi, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, The Lion King, Toy Story, Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians, The Snow Queen, Aladdin, Lilo and Stitch, Finding Nemo, Mulan, Cars, or even The Little Mermaid. Of course, the prohibitive price of the box set is largely explained by the fact that it will be available in limited numbers and in numbered copies (with a certificate of authenticity). Each title will be offered both on Blu-Ray and also as a digital copy, and will be accompanied by a copy of its original poster. Finally, each box will be accompanied by an exclusive lithograph, a collectible engraving as well as a sculpture of the famous Mickey ears in crystal. When you love, you don't count...
