iPhone Duo: market leader in foldable smartphones as early as 2027?

As Apple's very first foldable-screen smartphone, the iPhone Duo, is about to go on sale, analysts from all sides continue to make their estimates. According to them, it will take the newcomer only a few months to dominate this sector, a true preserve of Samsung until now.

The rumors had already predicted it, the new iPhone Duo is not an easy device for Apple to produce, which results in lower volumes than usual, and therefore a certain delay on the shelves.

The iPhone Duo expected for October 23

The device will indeed only be released on October 23, one month after the iPhone 18 Pro/Max unveiled at the same time. Even so, it should sell like hotcakes, several research firms say, a line they were already taking when the product was still only a rumor.

Apple neck and neck with Samsung and Huawei

Thus, according to Smart Analytics Global, 6 million iPhone Duo units would find buyers by the end of the year. A good figure when you know that a total of 20 million foldable smartphones will be sold in 2026. Apple should thus join the second position held by Huawei, dangerously approaching Samsung, which for its part would sell 7.1 million units this year (TrendForce figure).

iPhone Duo, already number 1 next year?

With such momentum, analysts agree that Apple could overtake the Korean leader as early as 2027. As a reminder, the Apple iPhone Duo will be available from October 23, 2026. Indicative price still unknown.
