Netflix set to buy Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen series

Netflix is about to buy the broadcast rights to the series adaptation of Guy Ritchie's 2019 film The Gentlemen.

Director of the original film The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie will co-write the series pilot with Matthew Read, and will direct the first two episodes.

The return of one or more characters?

We have just learned that the Netflix platform has managed to negotiate the broadcasting rights for the project with Miramax, which produces the series. For the moment, it is not yet known if the series will be centered on a character from the film or if the story will be entirely new with the potential return of emblematic characters from the film.

According to Deadline, the director recalled part of his team, including producers Ivan Atkinson, Marn Davies and Bill Block, with the firm intention, if the stars are aligned, to bring back part of the cast of origin. Either Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Colin Farrell, Hugh Grant and Eddie Marsan. To be continued.
