Oppo Find N, the Chinese manufacturer's first foldable smartphone

The Chinese manufacturer Oppo promises to open the "next chapter of smartphones" with its first folding screen mobile, the Find N.

Validating a recent rumor, Oppo announces today its very first 5G smartphone with Amoled folding screen of 7.1 '' (18 cm) 120 Hz, with a resolution of 1792 x 1920 pixels (370 ppi) to the ratio 8.4: 9 (square or almost square format), named Find N. According to Oppo, four years of research and six generations of prototypes were necessary to arrive at this finished product.

Oppo Find N, 200,000 folds guaranteed

In a press release, the brand explains that the foldable smartphone market still encounters obstacles to popularize, such as ergonomics and solidity. With the Find N, Oppo claims to have solved the main problems of the models already on the market, such as the fold of the screen and the overall robustness (200,000 folds guaranteed), in particular thanks to a hinge system presented as the best of the moment. Precisely, the Oppo Find N also has an external Amoled screen, 5.5 '' (13.97 cm), 60 Hz, with a resolution of 1792 x 988 pixels (402 dpi).

Oppo Find N, photo capabilities

For the rest of the photo specifications, there is a triple quadruple lens: main wide-angle 50 Mpxls sensor (f / 1.8, 24 mm, PDAF, stabilized) + 16 Mpxls ultra-wide-angle sensor (f / 2, 2.14 mm) + 13 Mpxls telephoto sensor (f / 2.4, 52 mm). For the two front cameras (internal and external), the sensors are 32 Mpxls (f / 2.4).

The Ram memory displays 8 GB or 12 GB, for 250 GB or 512 GB of flash storage. Finally, the battery offers a capacity of 4,500 mAh with 33 W wired and 15 watt wireless charging. Last precision, when folded, the Oppo Find N measures 14.9 mm thick (see photo above).

Over to Pete Lau

Pete Lau, Chief Product Officer at Oppo, said “New form factors are ushering in an exciting technological era for smartphones. Oppo has put a lot of effort into finding a better approach when it comes to folding screen. By experimenting with several designs, whether for hinges or display materials, we have succeeded in creating a device that can meet the needs of more users. With the Oppo Find N, we want to change users' perceptions of what a smartphone can offer and start making folding devices more accessible to everyone. ”
