Apple AirPods 3: Spatial Audio / Dolby Atmos and battery life on the rise

Apple presents the third generation of its True Wireless headphones, the AirPods 3, without noise reduction but compatible with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos.

Two years after the second iteration of the AirPods, here is the new generation of True Wireless headphones from Apple, the AirPods 3.

Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos compatibility but no active noise reduction

To begin with, they are distinguished by compatibility with the proprietary format of the Cupertino Spatial Audio company already present on AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, and also support Dolby Atmos. Note that the noise reduction found on AirPods Pro is not relevant here.

IPX4 Certification

The AirPods Pro still inspire the design of these new AirPods 3 with shorter rods than those of the previous generation. Note also the presence of pressure sensors for improved control of music and phone calls. Also new, an IPX4 certification for water and sweat resistance.

Exclusive transducer and increased range

The headphones feature a proprietary dynamic transducer that reduces distortion and delivers, in Apple's words, "deep, rich bass, clean, crisp highs." An adaptive equalizer allows for a sound that adapts finely to the shape of your ears. In terms of autonomy, there is an hour more than the previous generation, or 6 hours of listening and a total of 30 hours with the wireless charging box, also MagSafe compatible. And a 5 minute quick charge gives you an extra hour of music.

Available from October 26 (and already for pre-order) at the indicative price of 199 euros.
