IFA 26 > Hisense C3 Ultra Max TriChroma projector: 5,000 lumens, liquid cooling and Devialet 2.1 sound

Continuation and conclusion of the renewal of the Hisense C2 audio-video projector range with the Hisense C3 series. After our presentations of the Hisense C3 Pro and Hisense C3 Ultra models, it is time for the lifestyle Ultra HD 4K Hisense C3 Ultra Max specimen. The latter goes even further with a colossal brightness of 5,000 lumens, an unprecedented liquid cooling system, and a 2.1 sound section signed by Devialet.

The Hisense C3 Ultra Max takes up the gimbal architecture that made the line famous, with its built-in metal stand allowing full 360° horizontal rotation and vertical tilt up to 135 degrees. This design greatly facilitates placement, whether on a coffee table, a shelf, or for projecting directly onto the ceiling.

Ergonomics especially takes a decisive leap forward: in addition to a x2 optical zoom (throw ratio of 0.85 to 1.7:1), the C3 Ultra Max now integrates a true [abc]Lens Shift[/abc] (optical lens shift), offering a wide range of ±120% vertically and ±47% horizontally. Combined with the Auto Magic AI Adjusting 3.0 software suite (continuous autofocus, automatic 9-point keystone correction, obstacle detection and wall-color adjustment), it ensures hassle-free installation to display an image from 65" (165 cm) to 300" (762 cm) diagonally.

Hisense C3 Ultra Max: 5,000-lumen TriChroma source, liquid cooling and 5,000:1 contrast

The heart of the projector is based on exclusive TriChroma technology, using a pure triple [abc]RGB[/abc] laser module coupled with a Texas Instruments 0.47" [abc]DLP[/abc] SST matrix (with XPR4 wobulation to recreate an [abc]Ultra HD[/abc] [abc]4K[/abc] image). Brightness here reaches 5,000 lumens. To support this increase in power without compromising quiet operation, Hisense has integrated an exclusive liquid cooling system. Color performance remains a strong point with coverage reaching 118% of the Rec.2020 space and a factory Delta E still claimed to be < 0.8. Another major new feature is the combined integration of a mechanical iris system (7 levels) and the CineBlack Pro dynamic processing, bringing native contrast to 5000:1. Finally, according to its creator, the C3 Ultra Max integrates a unique cinema technology reducing [abc]rainbow effects[/abc] to less than 0.001% and decreasing laser speckle by 10% (compared with the C2 Ultra).

Hisense C3 Ultra Max: comprehensive HDR and 2.1 audio tuned by Devialet On the video side, the C3 Ultra Max delivers flawlessly by supporting all extended dynamic range formats: [abc]HDR10[/abc], [abc]HDR HLG[/abc], [abc]HDR10+[/abc] and [abc]HDR Dolby Vision[/abc]. It also adds Filmmaker Mode, [abc]Imax Enhanced[/abc] certification and 3D support. The change is just as spectacular for audio playback. The flagship of the C3 series relies on a [abc]2.1[/abc] acoustic system directly integrated into the projector, this time carrying the Designed by Devialet label (a higher distinction than the Tuned by designation of lower models). It supports Dolby Audio streams and DTS Virtual:X spatial processing to deliver outstanding sound foundation and clarity.

Hisense C3 Ultra Max: 240 Hz gaming, Xbox Game Pass and Vidaa U9 interface Gamers benefit from an optimized game mode with input lag below 1 millisecond. While 4K is handled up to 60 Hz, the projector accepts Full HD/QHD signals at frequencies up to 240 hertz. Above all, the C3 Ultra Max makes a strong impression with native integration of the Xbox Cloud Gaming app (via Xbox Game Pass) within the new Vidaa U9 interface, allowing direct play without a console. The system of course provides access to the main [abc]SVoD[/abc] platforms and voice commands (Vidaa Voice, Alexa). On the networking and sharing side, the C3 Ultra Max is fully equipped with W[abc]i-Fi[/abc] 7, [abc]Bluetooth[/abc] 5.4, [abc]AirPlay 2[/abc], [abc]Miracast[/abc] and the [abc]DLNA[/abc] protocol.

The rear connectivity includes two [abc]HDMI[/abc] 2.1 inputs (one of which is [abc]eARC[/abc] compatible), two [abc]USB[/abc] 3.0 ports, an RJ45 [abc]Ethernet[/abc] network port, an [abc]optical[/abc] S/PDIF output and a 3.5 mm mini-jack socket. Finally, with noise limited to just 28 dB during operation, the C3 Ultra Max also knows how to stay discreet.

Expected availability in November. Indicative price: 3,999 euros.
