Sony Bravia 7 II, True RGB Mini LED TV from 50'' at 98"

We finally know more about the new premium True RGB Mini LED TV series, the Sony Bravia 7 II and Sony Bravia 9 II, from the Japanese manufacturer. Let's focus on the former before returning to the latter in a separate article.
The Sony Bravia 7 II TV series, or Sony XR75M2, is the first in the 2026 TV range equipped with True RGB Mini LED technology. It includes six Ultra HD 4K models: the Sony K50XR75M2 (50", 127 cm), Sony K55XR75M2 (55", 191 cm), Sony K65XR75M2 (65", 191 cm), Sony K75XR75M2 (75", 191 cm), Sony K85XR75M2 (85", 216 cm), and Sony K98XR75M2 (98", 249 cm).

Sony XR75M2, the first 2026 TVs equipped with True RGB Mini LED technology

With True RGB Mini LED technology developed by Sony's Semiconductor Solutions Group, the Japanese company promises numerous improvements for superior picture quality. Based on the RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro backlighting system, this technology consists of a triplet of RGB diodes in each zone, each controlled independently of the other two for increased color accuracy, an expanded color gamut, less color interference, and a significantly improved viewing angle, without any loss of contrast or brightness. Ultimately, Sony claims, through its exclusive True RGB system, a color gamut approximately twice as wide as that of a conventional Mini LED TV (in this case, the Sony Bravia 9 released in 2024; click on the following link to discover the comprehensive review of the Sony K65XR90) and four times wider than that of an OLED TV (referring to the Sony Bravia 8 II QD OLED TV). Another advantage highlighted by Sony of the True RGB process, in conjunction with the brand's video processing, is significantly improved color gradation to eliminate posterization effects in a sky, for example. Similarly, since True RGB technology is linked to LCD displays, it's easy to manufacture very large screens, up to 98 inches, such as the Sony K98XR75M2 in the 2026 catalog. Another advantage of these TVs, given their size, is the possibility of equipping them with a relatively sophisticated audio system for a truly immersive picture and sound experience. Sony XR75M2, main specifications: Triluminos Max, Luminance Booster, HDR and XR Processor. Among the main specifications of the Sony Bravia 7 II True RGB TVs, in addition to RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro, are the RGB Triluminos Max functionality plus Luminance Booster and Smooth Color Gradation. Also included is the X-Wide Angle Pro process, which contributes to the wider viewing angle, and support for HDR10, HDR HLG, and [abc]HDR Dolby Vision[/abc]. Finally, the XR Cognitive Processor chip is still present.

Sony XR75M2: Acoustic Multi-Audio+ and Voice Zoom functions

The sound system of the Sony XR75M2 series is called Acoustic Multi-Audio+, Multi-Audio on the 50" and 55" models. It uses two tweeters placed on the sides of the LCD panel, two woofers, and two full-range speakers placed on the back of the panel. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced compatibility are also included.

The AI-powered Voice Zoom 3 technology identifies human voices and amplifies them for perfect intelligibility. The Acoustic Center Sync function seamlessly blends sound between the TV's speakers and a Bravia Theatre soundbar. Voice Zoom 3 also works with a Bravia Theatre soundbar. [] Sony Bravia XR75M2, Smart Google TV and connected features 2026. Sony's 2026 Smart TVs feature the Google TV operating system, which prioritizes content. Similar to Android TV, Google TV brings together and organizes all your apps and streaming subscriptions in one place. But while Android TV places apps at the top of the menus, here, content takes center stage, displayed side-by-side by theme. More than 7,000 apps are included, among them Disney+, Netflix, Canal+, France TV, and YouTube, along with over 800,000 movies and TV episodes. And there's no need to switch between services to find what you want to watch: hundreds of thousands of movies and series are organized and searchable by genre, regardless of their origin. Finally, Gemini AI is on board. The XR Cognitive Processor 2026 also contributes to the Smart TV functionality, providing enhanced usability with near-instantaneous fluidity and responsiveness. Finally, the Sony XR75M2 TVs come with Google Assistant built-in via Chromecast certification and dual microphones, one on the remote and the other on the TV itself. This allows for direct voice interaction with the screen without using the remote. AirPlay 2 and HomeKit certifications are also included. Sony Bravia XR75M2, Bravia Core, and Integrated OTT Services: Like all Sony Bravia XR TVs, the Sony XR75M2 and Bravia 7 offer the exclusive Bravia Core (Centre of Real Entertainment) streaming platform. This offer, primarily driven by Sony Pictures productions, provides, with the purchase of a Bravia XR, Bravia 9/9 II, Bravia 8/8 II, or Bravia 7/7 II TV, the opportunity to watch a selection of ten films from the biggest Hollywood studios and the largest collection of feature films bearing the IMAX Enhanced label free for 24 months. And this is offered in extreme quality, with a bitrate of up to 80 Mbps for consumers with a suitable subscription. The Bravia XR75M2 also features Perfect for PlayStation 5 gaming functions and a Game Menu. The Perfect for PlayStation 5 certification, with its two features Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode, is also included. With this certification, Sony XR75M2 TVs automatically switch between Game and Standard modes depending on the nature of the signal sent by the PS5 console.

Sony 2026 TVs feature the Game Menu, providing quick and easy access to game settings: VRR, Motion Blur, Black Equalizer (to brighten areas of the image and highlight enemies or power-ups), and the displayed image size (to reduce it on the screen). Of course, ALLM and HDMI 2.1 are included.

Bravia XR75M2, Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode and Prime Video Calibrated Mode features

Among the other advantages of the Sony XR75M2 TVs, in addition to Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode certifications (to enjoy series, documentaries, films, etc. on your TV with the same quality as Netflix post-production studios regardless of the environment, whether dark or bright), IMAX Enhanced and Bravia Core Calibrated Mode, is the Prime Video Calibrated Mode label. Again, to enjoy series, documentaries, films, etc. on your TV with the same quality as Prime Video post-production studios, regardless of the environment, whether dark or bright. Finally, we must mention the design of the Sony Bravia 7 II TVs, with a stand heavily inspired by certain Samsung models, made of a plexiglass panel that gives an impression of transparency and lightness (except for the 98"). The screen frame is made of plastic. More details to follow. Availability announced for June.
