New details on the features of Apple's smart glasses, which could be unveiled as early as the end of 2026…
Rumors about AI glasses in development at Apple have been circulating for over a decade, and the leaks have become increasingly frequent lately, suggesting that development is nearing completion. An old project finally approaching its final stage. The MacRumors website recently reported some technical details about the "Apple Glass," which appear to be positioned as competitors to the Ray-Ban Meta (see our article "New Features for Ray-Ban Meta Glasses"). The Apple glasses would have two cameras: one high-resolution camera for capturing photos and videos, and another low-resolution, wide-angle camera for detecting hand movements. Control would be gesture-based, a practical method when there's no screen to touch, as with the Apple Vision Pro. As previous rumors predicted, these glasses would indeed lack a screen. And it's the battery size that determines the features of the first pair of AI glasses that Apple is expected to release. The company wants a slim and discreet design, so the battery must take up minimal space. A smaller battery means less power, and therefore not enough to run power-hungry technologies like screens. A slim design dictated by battery constraints. To summarize the features, the glasses will allow users to take photos and videos, make calls, and ask Siri questions about their surroundings within their field of vision. Apple plans a launch next year, with a presentation that could take place as early as the end of 2026.
