Apple is reportedly preparing a new Smart Home sensor for home security.

Apple is reportedly working on a new Smart Home sensor for home security. Compact and wireless, the device could be placed anywhere in the house to detect intrusions, analyze occupant presence, and automate certain home automation functions using facial recognition and Apple Intelligence.
Bloomberg recently published an article about John Ternus, Apple's head of hardware development and a strong contender to succeed Tim Cook when the CEO retires. This provided an opportunity to learn more about current developments, including three devices for the connected home: a desktop display on a robotic arm, an Apple Intelligence smart display with facial recognition, and a small security sensor. Apple's connected home sensor, designed for security and home automation: While the first two products have been mentioned in previous rumors, the third appears to be new and is expected to be equipped with a camera. This seemingly wireless device can be placed almost anywhere in the house to detect intruders, but also for home automation functions. For example, the sensor can detect when a room has been vacated and manage the lights, or even activate the favorite music of a family member identified by facial recognition.
