Sophie Turner injured, filming of the Tomb Raider series interrupted

Filming of the new Tomb Raider series has been halted after its star, Sophie Turner, suffered a minor injury, according to a statement released by Amazon MGM Studios.
The studio stated: "Sophie Turner recently sustained a minor injury. As a precaution, production has been briefly suspended to allow her time to recover. We hope to resume filming as soon as possible." The exact circumstances of the injury have not been specified, but the crew will continue to be paid during this temporary break. Filming for the series officially began on January 15th. A year of physical preparation for Sophie Turner. Sophie Turner, who plays the adventurer Lara Croft, has reportedly been undergoing particularly intensive physical training for the role for the past year. The actress recently described it as a full-time job, working eight hours a day, five days a week, which began in February of last year. Let's hope, then, that this injury is not serious and that the actress can quickly and safely resume filming.

The series is expected to present Lara Croft as a seasoned adventurer and archaeologist, in an atmosphere reminiscent of the 1990s. First announced in January 2023, the project will incorporate Norse mythology and Ragnarök, without being linked to the game Tomb Raider: Underworld, which already explored a similar setting.

The Emmy Award-winning British actress, screenwriter, and producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge is the creator of the series. She is writing the scripts and also serving as executive producer. Chad Hodge is also involved as executive producer and co-showrunner.
