Sony Bravia Theater Bar 5 3.1 soundbar: sound immersion

Continuing our presentation of the new soundbars from the Japanese manufacturer, after the Sony Bravia Bar 7, we now have the Sony Bravia Bar 5, model [abc]3.1[/abc].
While the new Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 7 and Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 5 embody two distinct home cinema approaches, they share the same philosophy: to offer a wider, more precise, and easier-to-install immersive experience. The 90cm-long Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 5 adopts a 3.1 configuration via an external wireless subwoofer. It leverages Sony's proprietary Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force Pro Front Surround technologies to widen the soundstage and create a convincing sense of envelopment, even without rear speakers. Of course, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility are included. The dedicated center channel ensures good dialogue intelligibility, enhanced by the Voice Zoom 3 function when paired with a Bravia 5 or higher TV. The subwoofer, built around a 160mm driver and powered by a 100W module, provides a solid foundation for low frequencies. The Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 5's connectivity remains simple and effective, with an HDMI output, an eARC output, and an optical input for older setups lacking this connector. The Bar 5 is clearly positioned as a mid-range solution designed for those who want a cinematic experience without complexity and without 360 Spatial Sound Mapping algorithms.

Like the Bar 7, it can be controlled via the Bravia Connect app, which centralizes settings and simplifies everyday use.

The Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 5 is available for pre-order starting today.
