LG G6 OLED TV, the brightest ever designed: the Tandem 2.0 revolution is here

LG unveiled the G6 series at CES 2026 in Las Vegas in early January, featuring Tandem WoLED panels, already available for pre-order in the United States. While awaiting its arrival in France starting at the end of April, let's take a look back at the specifications of the LG G6 displays.
This new generation of OLED TVs immediately stands out thanks to a spectacular increase in peak brightness (except for the LG OLED48G6 and LG OLED97G6 models). The brand announces 4,500 nits, which is approximately 12.5% to 20% more than the G5 models. To be more precise, the peak brightness of the LG G6 screens is 3.9 times higher (2.1 times higher for the 48G6) than that of the LG B6 TVs. With the LG G6, OLED is definitely no longer afraid of light… LG G6 TV: New OLED Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 Panel. Another major announcement is significantly improved management of ambient light thanks to a Reflection Free anti-reflective coating, measured at 0.3% reflectance (for anti-reflective performance twice that of the LG G5 TVs), an industry record. The goal is clear: to offer optimal visibility in broad daylight without sacrificing the deep blacks for which LG OLED is renowned. To achieve this, LG is introducing a completely redesigned panel, called OLED Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 (except on the 48G6 and 97G6 models equipped with OLED EX panels), a direct evolution of the TOLED Primary RGB Tandem system used in LG G5 TVs. This stacked architecture, where each primary color has its own emissive layer, improves luminous efficiency and color accuracy while reducing power consumption. Combined with new absorption and diffusion materials, it increases brightness while controlling reflections, a crucial point for bright living rooms. LG G6 TVs: Hyper Radiant OLED Technology, Perfect Black, and Perfect Color Labels Another feature of the LG G6 series is also noteworthy: the new Hyper Radiant OLED Technology label. This is based on the new Brightness Booster Ultra feature (which succeeds Brightness Booster Ultimate, introduced by LG in 2025). Its goal is to enhance luminance, deepen blacks, and stabilize colors in brightly lit environments. As a reminder, the 48" and 97" models are exceptions and do not benefit from this technology. To best manage these technical developments, LG has integrated a brand new conductor into its G6 screens: the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 3 (see our CES 26 news > LG OLED & Micro RGB TVs, powerful Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor on the menu), initially mentioned in our articles in a news item about the brand's new Micro RGB Evo TV series (see our CES 26 news > LG Micro RGB Evo TVs: LG MRGB85, LG MRGB9M and LG MRGB95 series). Regarding other technical specifications, as in 2025, the Perfect Black label (the TV maintains deep blacks, even in very bright rooms, up to 500 lux) and Perfect Color label (the TVs are certified to cover 100% of standard color spaces) are still present. The same applies, of course, to the heat sink of the previous G series. LG G6 TV: Ultra-powerful Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 3 chip. To best manage these technical advancements, LG has integrated a brand-new conductor into its G6 screens, the most advanced ever used by the brand in its displays: the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 3, supported by a new NPU (Neural Processing Unit). In figures, this means 5.6x more NPU (Neural Processor Unit) resources for AI, a 50% increase in CPU (Central Processing Unit, the organizer/planner) resources, and a 70% increase in GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) resources for video processing. Through these new resources, it is capable of simultaneously processing two artificial intelligence pipelines (two parallel data streams dedicated to the separate processing of image and sound in real time). This combined approach reduces noise while preserving natural textures, avoiding the over-sharpening sometimes seen in previous generations. The image gains in balance, sharpness, and naturalness. LG G6 TV: Alpha 11 Gen 3 chip, LG Gallery+, and gaming. Gaming performance also improves. G6 models support Ultra HD and 4K signals up to 165 Hz, with VRR, nVidia G-Sync (up to 165 Hz), and AMD FreeSync Premium compatibility, a 0.1 ms response time, and an automatic ALLM mode. We should also mention Cloud Gaming support at 120 hertz up to [abc]Ultra HD[/abc] [abc]4K[/abc]. Note that the 48" model remains limited to 144 Hz, while the 97" model is limited to 120 Hz. Among the other new features is a Filmmaker Mode that adjusts to ambient light conditions. In 2026, this was called Ambient Filmmaker Mode. While LG has announced modifications to the Dolby Vision Vivid and Standard modes for a brighter picture, the Ambient Filmmaker Mode finally allows users to enjoy the TV's most accurate picture in broad daylight, thus resolving the long-standing issue of Filmmaker Mode being considered too dark for use in a well-lit living room. In addition to Dolby Vision HDR, Dolby Vision Gaming HDR and HLG HDR are also included. Dolby Vision IQ with Precision Detail is also supported. Combined with the Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor, this system analyzes ambient light to preserve every micro-detail of the image, ensuring exceptional depth. consistent black levels and sharpness, regardless of the room's lighting.

Beyond image quality, LG aims to make the television an object of decoration and personalization. The LG Gallery+ function transforms the screen into a digital canvas, with over 4,500 available visuals, the ability to display your own photos as well as AI-generated artwork, and even to accompany everything with suitable soundscapes. The television thus becomes a decorative element in its own right, capable of integrating into any interior.

LG G6 TV: Clear13000 VESA certification and virtual sound 11.1.2££££

Similarly, the LG G6 Evo models feature Clear13000 VESA certification, ensuring optimal fluidity even when displaying hyper-fast or even syncopated scenes. The screen. A feat made possible by its 165Hz panel and the processing power of the new Alpha 11 AI Gen 3 processor. In terms of sound, there's little to no evolution compared to the LG G5 models. The AI Sound Pro feature still offers an 11.1.2 virtual surround sound environment. And the 2026 version of the AI Sound Wizard, like the 2025 version, allows for approximately 40 million sound profile variations and 1.6 billion image setting combinations. LG G6 TV: 165Hz and Ultra Low Latency Bluetooth Connectivity. Regarding connectivity, the LG G6 confirms its status as a giant gaming monitor. It offers four full-speed HDMI 2.1 inputs, now supporting 4K up to 165Hz (compared to 144Hz on the previous generation). This increased refresh rate is accompanied by certification VESA ClearMR 13000, the highest grade in the VESA consortium, guarantees exceptional motion clarity, virtually free of blur. Beyond image quality, LG aims to make the television an object of decoration and personalization. The LG Gallery+ function transforms the screen into a digital canvas, with over 4,500 available images, the ability to display personal photos as well as AI-generated artwork, and even to accompany it all with tailored soundscapes. The television thus becomes a decorative element in its own right, capable of integrating into any interior. The major innovation of this 2026 model also lies in its wireless connectivity. Thanks to the Alpha 11 AI Gen 3 processor, the LG G6 introduces Bluetooth ULL (Ultra Low Latency). This technology reduces transmission latency to just 1 ms. eliminating the usual lag when using wireless headphones or gamepads. Finally, Wi-Fi 6E (and Wi-Fi 7 on 55" to 83" models via a future update) ensures completely smooth streaming of ultra-high-definition content. LG G6 TV: webOS 2026. On the operating system side, webOS 2026 introduces Voice ID, which automatically recognizes the user and loads their personalized profile. The platform also includes Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, integrated directly into the interface to respond to contextual queries. Alexa is still included, but not Google Assistant. The AI Concierge is more relevant, while the In This Scene feature provides information about actors, discovers related content, or even generates images related to the current scene. All of this is protected by LG. Shield, a new security platform awarded at CES 2026. The LG G6 series comes in six screen sizes, from 48", 55", to 97", with prices ranging from $2,500 to $25,000 in the United States depending on the model, and from €1,999 to €29,999 in Germany.
