Book your place at the first hotel… on the Moon

For the princely sum of $250,000 (minimum), you can reserve your place in the lunar hotel, which will open its doors no later than 2032.
We thought we'd never see space tourism in our lifetime, but this fantasy straight out of science fiction is about to become a reality, and not so long from now, since a hotel is expected to open on the Moon as early as 2032. This project is being spearheaded by a young Californian startup called GRU Space—nothing to do with Despicable Me—and is more serious than it seems, as it's already backed by Elon Musk's SpaceX and the American defense company Anduril. Before this opening, GRU will send a reconnaissance mission to the Moon in 2029 in collaboration with NASA. The goal of the operation: to deploy and test inflatable structures that will serve as the base for the hotel, and to transform lunar regolith into bricks, used to solidify the construction. The hotel will initially accommodate four guests, perhaps you, provided you first apply for a paltry $1,000 (non-refundable), then reserve a spot for $250,000 (minimum), before paying the full price of over $10 million. So, maybe not you. "We are living at a pivotal moment where we can truly become interplanetary before we die," Skyler Chan, founder of GRU, told Founded. "If we succeed, billions of human beings will be born on the Moon and Mars, and will be able to discover the beauty of lunar and Martian life."
