While the major players in the TV industry have already revealed their cards at CES 2026 in Las Vegas (see our news feed Relive the CES 2026 announcements: click!), rumors continue to surface about Philips' upcoming 2026 TV lineup, the full presentation of which is scheduled for mid-March. Today's information concerns the Philips OLED901 series.
It is once again via the Toengels Philips Blog that we have received the first specifications of the Philips 2026 TV range. And the least we can say is that the Philips OLED901 series (available in 42OLED901, 42", and 48OLED901, 48") seems to mark a significant shift in the brand's segmentation. Philips OLED901 TV: OLED EX panel and soundbar included. Contrary to Philips' usual practice, based on the specifications mentioned for the OLED901 series, it will not be the flagship model, but will be positioned at the level of the upcoming OLED811 series. Its distinguishing feature? Superior audio equipment with an integrated soundbar. Under the hood, we find next-generation OLED EX panels, and while they fall short of the record brightness levels of higher-end models equipped with OLED Tandem 2.0 technology (see our CES 26 news > LG OLED Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 TV: 4,500 nits in sight), the peak brightness is announced at around 1,000 nits (over a 3% window). A very respectable figure for these small screen sizes, whose pixel density structurally limits maximum luminance. For image processing, Philips relies on its new P5 Gen 9 processor enhanced with artificial intelligence (Adaptive Intelligence). Features include automatic content classification to optimize settings based on the type of content: film, sports, or video game. The Adaptive Gamut Enhancer function is also included to boost the color space of SDR (Rec.709) sources. On the HDR front, the range is extensive: HDR10+, HDR10+ Adaptive, HDR HLG, and HDR Dolby Vision IQ. Philips OLED901 TV: 144Hz Gaming and Smart TV. Gaming is not neglected on the Philips OLED901 TVs with a refresh rate reaching up to 144Hz. Connectivity includes, among other things, two HDMI 2.1 inputs (out of four total) supporting VRR, ALLM, and G-Sync and FreeSync Premium certifications. The whole thing is powered by a MediaTek Pentonic 1000 SoC running Google TV, with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

Philips OLED901 TV: 2.1 sound system and Ambilight £3£££
The design, true to the brand's standards with its metal frame and swiveling stand (15°), incorporates a 2.1 sound system. The 48" model benefits from four front speakers (two for the 42") supported by a 30W woofer at the rear. Of course, the brilliant Ambilight system (here in its 3-sided version) is present for total immersion.
One last detail: the Philips OLED901 series will join the OLED811, OLED+911, and OLED+951 (announced directly by Dolby Laboratories at CES 2026 as they are Dolby Vision 2 compatible; see our CES 26 news > HDR Dolby Vision 2 on 2026 TVs: Hisense UR9/UR8/UX, TCL X/C series, Philips OLED811/911/951). Finally, the Philips OLED901 series may not be available everywhere in Europe. More details will be available at the official TPVision/Philips presentation in a few weeks. Stay tuned!
