CES 26 > Onkyo Muse Y-40: Modern Hi-Fi for everyone!

If you follow our news, you know that Onkyo is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year with the announcement of several prototypes planned for 2026 and 2027 (see our CES 26 news > Onkyo celebrates its 80th anniversary with many new products planned for 2026 and 2027). In the meantime, the manufacturer is presenting two new network players/stereo amplifiers, the Onkyo Y-40 and Onkyo Y-50. We'll present the former here before discussing the latter in a later article.
This new series of integrated stereo amplifiers/network players has truly been designed for discerning music lovers. The compact and powerful Onkyo Y-40/Y-50 combine high-resolution streaming, sophisticated digital architecture, and refined design, all within a decidedly Hi-Fi approach. Onkyo Muse Y-40/Y-50, key common specifications: Both models incorporate Axign Class D amplifiers with high-current MOSFET transistors, capable of delivering fast, precise, and dynamic sound for an immersive soundstage. The user interface is based on a 5.46" color LCD screen displaying metadata and analog-style VU meters. It also facilitates smooth navigation between different streaming services. More broadly, every detail reflects Onkyo's expertise: a new volume knob, heat dissipation grilles with the Japanese San Kuzushi pattern, and a premium build designed for durability. This series undoubtedly marks a turning point in the brand's Hi-Fi approach, blending the brand's heritage of audio expertise with innovation. Onkyo Muse Y-40: Power, Streaming, and Versatility. The Muse Y-40 is positioned as the most accessible model in the new range, but retains Onkyo's audiophile DNA. Its fully digital architecture, combined with its Axign amplification, allows it to deliver 150W per channel into 4 ohms, with ample power reserves and exemplary handling. The result? Fast, clean, and perfectly controlled sound reproduction, according to its creator. In terms of usability, the Onkyo Y-40 is designed to be universal: Bluetooth, turntable, CD player, auxiliary input… simply pair it with your speakers to transform any room into a true entertainment space. Streaming is supported via Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Chromecast, and AirPlay 2, while the Onkyo Controller app offers complete control and advanced customization of the listening experience.
