If Avatar 4 and 5 don't come out, James Cameron will tell you the ending himself.

The director of Avatar: Fire and Ashes envisions a future where he will hold a press conference to tell the story of the next two films (if they are not released).
On December 17th, Avatar: From Fire and Ashes, the third installment in James Cameron's saga, was released. Two more episodes are planned (in 2029 and 2031)... hopefully. These films are indeed very expensive to produce, and even though the first two were more than profitable (ranked 1st and 3rd at the all-time box office), nothing prevents their distributor, Disney, from canceling the last two if Avatar 3's box office figures aren't entirely satisfactory. People aren't reading anymore, but James Cameron may have found the solution. A few weeks ago, director James Cameron explained that he was considering this situation, but he still wanted to tell the story of these films to the public, for example, in books. More recently, he remembered that people aren't reading anymore. "There's no longer a business model for books." “People don’t read anymore,” he told Entertainment Weekly, before adding that the scripts for these films were already written. “That’s the way it is. If we don’t get the chance to make episodes 4 and 5, for one reason or another, I’ll hold a press conference and tell you all about them. What do you say?” Naturally, the rights holders—namely Disney—may have a say if this happens. But given the excellent opening of the third episode in theaters (see Avatar 3 surpasses $760 million at the box office), it’s doubtful the company will hesitate to finance (albeit at great expense) the rest of the saga.
