CES 26 > Hisense XR10: TriChroma 6,800 lumen projector poised to become king of the Laser TV market

Hisense intends to make a strong impact at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, from January 6th to 9th, with the presentation of the latest addition to its Trichroma projector range, the XR10, boasting a brightness of 6,800 lumens. And to show its competitors that Hisense remains the leader in the Laser TV market.
Hisense was the first brand to truly develop the Laser TV family in France, starting in 2018 after a proper presentation of the Hisense HE100LN60 model at the IFA trade show in Berlin in 2017. And while its fundamentals have evolved over the years (disappearance of the DVB-T tuner, integration of short-throw projectors and even background projectors into this category, compared to exclusively ultra-short-throw models originally), credit must be given where credit is due: the revival of the Home Cinema projector market owes essentially to the efforts of Hisense. Since then, other brands or manufacturers have followed in Hisense's footsteps, sometimes with real commercial success (for example, Xgimi or BenQ). But Hisense intends to set the record straight in 2026 by offering new models packed with technology and innovation. This is the case with the Hisense XR10, which aims to revolutionize the high-end home cinema projector segment. This model features a dual tri-laser RGB MCL39 source, comprising a total of 56 high-performance laser chips encapsulated in GaN on silicon for 30% greater energy efficiency and reduced heat dissipation. These chips are distributed as follows: 28 for red (2 x 14), 14 for green (2 x 14), and 14 for blue (2 x 14). Ultimately, the light output reaches 6,800 lumens according to the CVIA standard and approximately 8,500 lumens according to the ISO standard, covering 110% of the Rec2020 color gamut. The Delta E value is advertised at 0.7 out of the box, 0.004 nits for black level measurement, and 8,000:1 for native contrast. Importantly, Hisense's XR10 features a new function that eliminates up to 6% of the speckle effect (colored glitter on the screen). We'll have to see for ourselves… Finally, the lifespan of these laser chips is given as 25,000 hours. Hisense XR10: Cinema Optics, Audio Equipment, and Easy Setup. The rest of the Hisense XR10's features include a 122mm diameter cinema lens composed of 17 high-precision glass elements with an f/2.0 aperture, ensuring extremely high resolution (> 160 pairs/mm, or 320 lines/mm) and edge-to-edge sharpness. Also noteworthy is a 2.8x motorized zoom (0.84:1 to 2:1 ratio) resulting in a 100" (254 cm) image from a distance of 2-3 meters. A dynamic iris is present (to dynamically optimize brightness and contrast), as is a wide lens shift (±130% vertical, ±46% horizontal). Easy setup is also included, thanks to four cameras and a 3D ToF sensor: automatic image alignment, autofocus, and keystone correction. An integrated 2.1 JBL sound system with a total power of 31 watts should also be mentioned. Hisense XR10 processing DLP 4K SST and Complete Connectivity: The DLP Ultra HD 4K chip in the Hisense XR10 projector adopts the ultra-fast third-generation SST architecture (20 kHz mirror switching: the mirrors can switch up to 20,000 times per second) for increased precision, improved light output, and optimized heat dissipation. The Hisense XR10 supports Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10+, and IMAX Enhanced technologies, and the Filmmaker Mode ensures faithful reproduction of the creator's (director's, cinematographer's) intentions. The onboard processor is a MediaTek Quad Core, supported by 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. Connectivity includes two inputs. HDMI 2.1 (2160p/60 and 1080p/240 for gaming or smooth sports content), a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, an Ethernet port, an optical output, and a 3.5 mm mini-jack output. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The Hisense XR10 features a retro design and innovative liquid cooling. The all-metal chassis with a Royal Coffee finish (a chic bronze color) evokes classic cinema projectors, with a front panel integrating the large lens and the system. 2.1 JBL. The Hisense XR10 benefits from a closed liquid cooling system called Jiaolong, consisting of high-quality PTFE tubing, a multi-channel radiator, and a pump. This system dissipates heat from the two laser sources and the DMD engine silently, maintaining consistent brightness without excessive fan noise. This is a very welcome feature, enabling an immersive home theater setup with an image size of 150" (381 cm) or larger. The Hisense XR10 is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2026. The suggested retail price is still unknown.
