Copilot arrives stealthily on LG Smart TVs
17.12.2025 • 13h17
The Microsoft Copilot intelligent assistant is coming to LG webOS TVs without users even realizing it.
Around the world, LG Smart TV users have seen the Microsoft Copilot app appear following a recent webOS update. This isn't unusual, as LG had already announced its intention to integrate the smart assistant into its Smart TVs. However, it's worth noting that the app cannot be deleted, as it's considered an integral part of the webOS system. To avoid using it, the only option is to move the icon off the screen and not sign up. The same update also enabled Live Plus by default, which tracks your viewing habits to offer personalized services, such as recommendations or advertising. Note, however, that this feature can be disabled. The stealthy introduction of such options shows that Smart TV manufacturers are increasingly embracing AI, even trying to impose it on their users.
