Lenny Kravitz in the next James Bond

Lenny Kravitz himself announced that he will play a villain in the Bond universe in 007: First Light. The star musician will portray Bawma, one of the main antagonists in the upcoming game from IO Interactive, expected on March 27th.
Kravitz speaks of his "first foray into the world of video games," and describes his character as a wild and unpredictable pirate leader, at the head of Africa's largest black market hub. He adds: "Where others see chaos, Bawma sees freedom. He came from nothing, broke free, and built his own kingdom, Aleph, and his story is only just beginning. He is magnetic and unpredictable; he exudes real danger, but also heart and a purpose. He is not just a man of power, he is a man who must fight for every bit of that power."

The Origins of James Bond££££

The game stars Patrick Gibson, seen in Dexter: The Origins, as a 26-year-old James Bond in a third-person narrative action-adventure game that revisits the origins of Agent 007. We discover a promising but rebellious young member of the Royal Navy's Naval Air Arm, recruited by MI6.

Also in the voice cast: Lennie James as Bond's mentor, John Greenway, Priyanga Burford as M, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, Kiera Lester as Miss Moneypenny, Noemie Nakai as the mysterious femme fatale Miss Roth, and Gemma Chan as MI6 agent Selina Tan.

Is the James Bond game already more creative than the films? Little by little, without betraying the source material, the creators of 007: First Light are laying the foundations for a new franchise dedicated to the early life of the most famous British spy, respecting the character's DNA while adding some brilliant ideas. The presence of the highly charismatic Lenny Kravitz is one of the most promising, one to watch very closely, while we wait for Villeneuve's Bond to begin revealing the direction it will take.

007: First Light will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
