The Cirque du Soleil show Alizé stands out for its use of a giant image, an integral part of the performance, projected using Epson equipment. And it's absolutely magnificent.
Performed at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, Alizé is Cirque du Soleil's first permanent European show, and it is distinguished by its collaboration with the projector manufacturer Epson. In the words of the artists of Cirque du Soleil Berlin: "Alizé uses the projected image as an active element of the show, interacting in real time with the acrobats and the stage environment. The projections do not simply add visual depth; they become a narrative tool that supports the central theme of transformation and perception." Specifically, eight Epson EB-PU2220B laser video projectors, each capable of delivering 20,000 lumens, combined with sophisticated lenses, are used to cover the entire theater with images synchronized to the performance. This was an opportunity for the manufacturer to highlight the projector's qualities under demanding daily use conditions. A word from Émilie Emiroglou, Creative Director of Cirque du Soleil Alizé: "Beyond simply displaying images, the projections in this brand-new production interact with the performance," explains Émilie Emiroglou, Creative Director of Cirque du Soleil Alizé. "At the beginning of the planning phase, many of us wondered how we were going to make the special effects work. Thanks to the incredible support of our creative and technical team, as well as the cutting-edge technology that supports their talent, we were able to transform what seemed impossible into something concrete."
