LG will unveil its first Micro LED RGB TV at CES 2026

The Korean giant LG Electronics has focused on OLED technology for its televisions for several years. However, Samsung's growing strength in this segment and, above all, the continued market share gains of Chinese brands in the TV market thanks to their near-total control of global LCD panel production are putting LG under pressure. The Korean group has therefore decided to reinvest in the LCD market to defend its position as the fourth-largest player worldwide.
LG Electronics announced last week via press release that it will be presenting a premium LCD TV (still based on a backlighting system) at the upcoming CES 2026 in Las Vegas in January. The TV will utilize Micro LED RGB technology (the image in this news item is of an LG Magnit screen; visuals of the Micro LED RGB TV are not yet available), following the example of its domestic rival Samsung (see our news item: Samsung Micro LED RGB 115" TV confirmed!). LG Micro LED RGB TV wins a CES 2026 Innovation Award. Thus, the Chinese companies Hisense and TCL are choosing Mini LED RGB, while the Korean companies LG and Samsung are opting for Micro LED RGB. LG's announcement doesn't provide many more details about this future model, except for near-total coverage of the color gamut. Rec. 2020. LG also announced that its upcoming premium Micro LED RGB TV has won a CES 2026 Innovation Award. See you at CES 26 to learn more…
