The iPhone Air stripped bare

If you wanted to know what the inside of the thinnest iPhone ever, the Air, looks like, this is where it's at.

After torturing the machine on the surface, Zack from the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything continues his path of destruction by dismantling the new iPhone Air. An autopsy more than a disassembly in truth, since the YouTuber uses the smartphone that he had managed to fold in two thanks to some infernal machinery at the back of his garage.

iPhone Air, repairability index on the rise££££

This operation allows us to learn a lot of little things, for example the ease with which certain components can be dismantled, notably the screen. A good point for the repairability index of Apple devices, which was deplorable two or three years ago compared to the competition. The battery is relatively easy to remove thanks to the recent method of pulsing a localized electric current (with a 9 V battery in this case). We can also admire the single speaker compared to the usual two, due to lack of space, and marvel at the quality of the engineering. Almost all of the components are located at the top of the device, the rest being taken up by the battery (3,149 mAh, as you recall, see our iPhone Air news, finally something "new" from Apple!).

Provided you have a strong stomach, take a look at the video to admire this dismantling work, which even involves a horrible blowtorch to separate the external titanium from the internal aluminum.
