Micro OLED displays in the new Vivo Vision mixed reality headset

Vivo is launching its competitor to the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset, the Vivo Vision, in China.

In China, when you "take inspiration" from the competition, you don't pretend... This response to the Apple Vision Pro from Vivo doesn't hesitate to use the term "Vision" in its name to simply give Vivo Vision.

Launched almost two years after its model, the Vivo Vision naturally gets rid of its main flaws, starting with the discomfort of wearing after prolonged sessions. The product notably uses a magnesium alloy to reduce weight (398 g), and boasts a reduction in size of almost 30% compared to "similar products" (the headset measures 83 mm high and 40 mm thick).

On the display side, the device is equipped with a micro [abc]Oled[/abc] screen with dual resolution 3,840 x 3,552 pixels (for each eye) for a field of vision equivalent to 180°, the equivalent of a 120" screen permanently in front of the eyes, and Vivo ensures a brightness and colorimetry calibration (94% DCI-P3 announced) limiting the vertigo effect generally associated with this type of product. The front visor, with a mirror finish, has several cameras and eye tracking sensors. Surround sound is also part of the game, the same for the corrective magnetic lenses inaugurated by Apple, the operating system is OriginOS and the processor is a Snapdragon XR2+ Gen2 specimen signed Qualcomm.

With the Vivo Vision, the Chinese manufacturer becomes the first mobile manufacturer (after Apple) to also be present on the mixed reality market. For the moment, the Vivo Vision is only available in China.
