We've been waiting for years for the premium option of the [abc]streaming[/abc] music platform Spotify, regularly mentioned in the form of rumors or half-hearted announcements. Things are finally becoming concrete with a mention linked to a [abc]Lossless[/abc] offer discovered in the code of the Spotify application and web player.

It was the American media who made this discovery, TechCrunch, The Verge and MacRumors in the lead. The mention mentioned is the following: "Introducing the best sound quality on Spotify: for music in up to 24 bit/44.1 kHz", or in French "Discover the best sound quality on Spotify: for music up to 24 bits/44.1 kHz". As a reminder, and according to information then published by the Financial Times and Bloomberg, in addition to Hi-Fi quality, Spotify Music Pro will offer other options, including the ability to purchase concert tickets. Spotify is also in talks with major labels to integrate this offer, with, for example, advance sales or privileged placements.
The availability of Spotify Music Pro should therefore take place by the end of 2025, as announced last February, via an additional cost of $6 in addition to its existing subscription, which would come to around €15.50 in our country (Apple has offered Lossless up to 192 kHz/24 bits since 2021 at no additional cost).
